According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, small businesses were the most vulnerable in regards to workplace substance abuse. Consider these statistics:

In a poll conducted by The Gallup Organization released November 10, 2005 of employees, a full 33% of respondents stated that the primary issue in discrimination was getting a promotion. Pay or salary came in second at 29%.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports in 2006 a total of 12% of the US workforce were members of a union. Of the US workforce as a whole, 13% of males were union whereas 10.9% were female.
In a survey conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management released under "2006 Benefits", the respondents stated an increase of organizations offering well-baby programs jumped from 40% in 2005 to 83% in 2006. Offering prenatal programs jumped from 25% in 2005 to 82% in 2006.
In FY 2006 the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) received 75,768 charges potentially yielding $229.9 million plus litigation costs in damages against employers.
According to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released March 2006, total compensation averaged $26.86 per hour/per employee. Broken down: $18.82 (70.1%) were wages/salaries and $8.04 (29.9%) were benefits.
According to a survey conducted by the Saratoga Institute, "Poor Behavior and Supervisory Skills of Front-line Managers" ranked first for the primary reason employees resign. "Lack of Growth Potential" came in second.
According to the FBI, 78% of employers have discovered that their employees have improperly used their time utilizing the organization's internet.
